“But 12 Years”

When claims about having only 12 years left are taken literally. A square illustrating #ButPredictions. Connected to #ButThePress, #ButAlarmism, and #ButActivism. We indeed have a very short window of opportunity before too much carbon dioxide gets stuck in the atmosphere virtually forever.

Most of us sucked the false prophecies at one point in our lives. I miss the “we only have 12 years to live” climate alarmist people.

I thought the climate change clock will run out in 1⃥2⃥ , I mean 11 years.

Objections and Replies

End. AOC references millennials that believe the world is going to end—
☞ The point AOC is making (look at the real quote) is that “how are we going to pay for it” is a bit silly considering the stakes. More so considering the trillions invested in ventures like wars, Mars expeditions, and fossil fuel subsidies.

Live. They say we only have 12 years to live—
☞ The claim is rather that Global warming is likely to reach 1.5°C between 2030 and 2052 if it continues to increase at the current rate {1}.

Misleading. The claim can be misleading in dangerous ways—
☞ Mostly if we confuse “we have twelve years to act” with “it’s going to happen in the next 12 years.”

Missed. The objective will be missed
☞ This claim is worth the empirical evidence that supports it. We might as well imagine a GRRRRROWTH Institute that peddles we got 12 years until the next benchmark. It’s mostly a self-serving and self-fulfilling prophecy.

Time. We have all the time in the world before
Carbon is forever.
